BEAUFORT ACADEMY - CO-ED LOWER SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Description: Children will travel the world experiencing different sounds expressing through music, art, dance, and storytelling. Teaching fundamentals of Music Theory, Song Writing, Vocal Skills, Digital Music Production.

BEAUFORT ACADEMY - GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP (11-13 GIRLS)

Description: This camp works on the basic volleyball skills and rules to include; serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking and court movement. This will be done through a variety of fun and challenging drills and games. The last hour of each day will place the kids into teams with scrimmages. The last day of camp will consist of games and skill challenges for created teams to help crown the camp champs.

BEAUFORT ACADEMY - GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP (14-18 GIRLS)

Description: This camp is aimed towards more advanced skills and game time situations. Players will work on specialized skill sets based on their positions as well as developing their overall skill level. Last hour of each day will involve placement onto teams for scrimmages. Friday will be a mini tournament between teams to crown the camp champs.

BEAUFORT YMCA TRADITIONAL CAMP

Description: Youth in traditional camp will participate in a series of educational activities tied in with summer camp fun. Additionally, in partnership with Beaufort County Library, all youth will participate in the Summer @ Your Library Program where youth will read daily to earn prizes! Camp activities also include: Swimming 2-3 days per week, nature activities, gym games, camp songs, group/camper choice activities like field games, dance, yoga, gaga pit, and more!

BEAUFORT COUNSELOR IN TRAINING CAMP

Description: Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) is ONLY for
teens who want to be Y summer camp counselors one day. There are a limited number of spots available for this camp program. Candidates must submit a CIT application and go through an interview process in order to be considered. CIT’s will be required to attend all pre-camp staff trainings/ meetings (typically held on nights/weekends). CIT’s will get their own time throughout the day to swim, shoot hoops, or exercise in the fitness center.

Description: Perfecting your skills, becoming a stronger swimmer, and having fun around the pool all summer, join us for this NEW Camp Experience! Campers must be able to pass the Y swim test BEFORE enrolling in this camp. Campers will receive a minimum of 1 hour personalized swim skill instruction daily from certified swim instructions, partake in the below theme- based water activities and challenges, and campers will be able to hang out in their “Aqua Cabana”. BEAUFORT ACADEMY - VERY VERA COOKING CAMP (PRE- BEGINNERS)

Description: The class will run Monday through Friday of the designated week. All week, the students will be preparing for our Brunch/Lunch Banquet on Friday and serving their special guests using all the manners and etiquette learned throughout the week. On Friday, campers can invite one adult guest to the Brunch/Lunch Banquet. This is a great experience for all kids, and we are so happy to be the exclusive host in Beaufort, SC. Camp will take place in the Beaufort Academy cafeteria and kitchen. (Banquet will be Friday, 6/14 @10:30am and Friday, 7/26 @10:30am)

Description: We will be mastering novice-level skills in the kitchen along with making every recipe one to remember. Beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 1pm each day we will be in preparing 3+ new recipes, gaining hands-on kitchen experience, crafting new ways to decorate and package our fabulous treats, learning a bit more about some of the foods we eat from a natural state, and mastering manners and etiquette to use in an everyday setting. CAMP CONROY: BUILD A BOOK

Description: The program will provide campers with a hands-on program of book building from start to finish. This year’s theme is “Garbage and the 4 R’s: Recycle, Reuse, Renew, and Repurpose, Making the World a Better Place.” Participants will engage in writing, illustrating, photographing, editing and storyboarding, and producing a book. The campers will act as a team in interpreting the definition of garbage and how it can be reconstructed into different forms of art.The resulting publication will be part of an exhibition at the Pat Conroy Literary Center in downtown Beaufort that will include all the campers’ stories, poems, artwork, and photography. Family and friends will be invited to a closing celebration and reception at the Center, and the campers’ books will be available for order.

SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL FOR SCIENCE & MATHEMATICS - CREATENG

Description: CREATEng is GSSM’s one-of-a-kind engineering and design thinking day camp for rising 8th and 9th graders. In CREATEng, students take on the role of NASA engineers charged with developing a sustainable colony on Mars. Working through project-based, hands-on team challenges, students learn what engineering is and what engineers do. With a focus on civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering students work through a series of mini challenges from building windproof structures and protecting transportation with impenetrable wheels for the Rover, to using Arduino technology for greenhouse automation. ** CREATEng students will interact with guest speakers and go on a field trip to a local company to see engineering in action.

Description: The program has been refined over many years, allowing students to develop from novices through to well-versed young sailors who compete on the local and national regatta circuit with much success. BEAUFORT YACHT AND SAILING CLUB SUMMER CAMP

Description: Our Summer Camp provides an active, hands-on, playful, safe environment for children to explore the outdoors during the summer. Land based activities and water based activities such as field games, arts and crafts, fishing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, boat tours, tubing and sandbar adventures are all part of the program.
