Here is a look at some of the more popular activities:


Sit back, relax and experience the animals and plant life of the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. Guests will search for turtles, alligators, birds and other critters as the ride winds its way past Heritage Farm, Lake Joe, Fish Island and more. Tours are from 3:30-4:30 pm every Monday, Jan. 7 through May 20. Reservations required. $16 for adults, $13 for child ages 12 and younger.


A tribute to the legendary Gregg Russell, who has delighted audiences with his musical performances under Harbour Town's famed Liberty Oak for 40 years, this nature-inspired playground features an incredible tree house embracing a great live oak and numerous play centers for hours of fun. The playground is adjacent to Harbour Town's main parking lot. 


Explore Hilton Head’s famous lighthouse in a unique museum-like setting. Climb to the top and enjoy the Lowcountry's best views and island's most elevated shopping, and wave to friends and family via our webcam. $4 per person; free for children ages 5 and younger. 843-671-2810.


Performing for more than 40 years at Sea Pines Resort, Russell is truly a Sea Pines institution. You’ll find him the Liberty Oak in Harbour Town, entertaining both adults and children — especially those ages 3-12. His concerts are not to be missed. Join Albert, the resort’s mascot, for photos, games and activities on the lawn adjacent to the playground in Harbour Town from 7-7:45 p.m. Sundays, May 26 through Sept. 1. Free. 


Children enjoy a variety of craft activities — including ceramic treasures, sand art, coaster art, shark tooth necklaces and stuffed animals — at the Sea Pines Beach Club. Runs from noon to 2 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from May 27 through Sept. 3. Each activity varies in price from $10 to $15.


Enjoy a relaxing morning by the beautiful lakes of the Sea Pines Forest Preserve while fishing from shore for catfish, crappie and bream. Lawton Stables’ trail rides are one of the best ways to get a true feeling for the Lowcountry in its natural setting as the trails meander through trails, forests and lakes in Sea Pines Forest Reserve. Learn about the crabs of Hilton Head Island while trying the art of cast netting. Supplies provided; catch-and-release program. $18 for adults, $13 for children. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of The Sea Pines Resort and discover your adventurous side through geocaching, a real-world treasure hunting game where you'll follow clues to find hidden items at many of the property’s popular sights. Share pictures on Instagram and tag @theseapinesresort. This two-hour, do-it-yourself family activity can be done on foot, bicycle or car, and guests can use their smartphones or cars’ GPS to follow the clues and coordinates to find the 11 caches. Prizes await those who reach the destination. Free.


Since 1970, the Sea Pines Forest Preserve has been a protected area for wildlife habitat and outdoor exploration. It offers great walking and biking paths. Discover the 4,000-year-old Sea Pines Shell Ring, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Guided boat, horseback, fishing and wagon tours are available. The preserve is open sunrise to sunset. Free.
